The cabinets are made from thick mahogany which was finished to show the grain with the bare color and beauty of the mahogany, and they house “The Painters”on top, so there is no separate chassis, no rack, no component you plug into the back (unless you want to of course I don’t judge). The speakers and the electronics that color the sound are the same object. The tweeter is a “Ribbon Tweeter” to be able to get extremely clear, airy, and of course bright highs. It is a transducer type known for its speed and resolution at the top of the frequency range, the kind of brightness that audiophiles describe not as harsh but as airy, a particular cool/cold color of high end that conventional dome tweeters do not produce. The wiring, crossover, and tube circuitry are all hand-assembled inside the enclosure. The warm, even harmonic distortion the tubes add to the signal and the cool, detailed retrieval of the ribbon tweeter sit in the same box, and the contrast between those two “colors” is an art itself.
